Managing Director for ISS Food Services, Mark Davies, has been given the Lifetime Achievement award at this year’s EDUcatering Excellence awards. The award recognises an individual who stands above all others in their lifetime achievements, dedication, and the enormous contribution they have given to the education catering industry.
Mark has played a key role in several important cultural shifts in the world of school catering. His dedication to the provision of high-quality school lunches, and an excellent pupil experience in the lunchroom has meant that ISS’ school catering has made a significant impact to the way school meals are viewed. He has achieved this by implementing a variety of standards across his business, including the adoption of Food for Life Served Here, embedding Professional Standards within staff training and investing in Food Education to name a few.
Mark Davies commented “I am delighted and honoured to have received this award. I would really like to thank my team and all those who have worked with me over the years! To be recognised by EDUcatering and the industry in this way is humbling. It provides me with added motivation to continue to support the future success of this great and important sector.”
The Morag Wilson Special Award is a tribute to the late Morag Wilson, given to those who have made a special contribution to the school catering industry.
Linda Cregan said “I have been lucky enough to work with some of the most amazingly passionate and dedicated people and organisations in the school food industry and it is those people that have made the real difference. I feel very lucky that I am now in a position with ISS where I can really support change on the ground. I feel very honoured to have received this award in memory of a very special lady who shared this passion with me.”
These awards continue a successful run in the EDUcatering Awards which saw ISS Food Services recognised as ‘Contract Caterer of the Year’ in 2018.
