At ISS we are pleased to offer much more than a school catering service. We can provide schools with a wide range of additional activities designed to enhance the curriculum around food, health and wellbeing.

We hold a wide range of events and event support and all our activities have been developed with the support of operators, chefs and nutritionists to ensure we are sending the right messages. All the listed activities have been tried and tested in schools already, and we have received positive feedback from pupils and teachers alike.

If you would like to find out more, or to make an enquiry about arranging one of these activities at your school, please get in touch via hello@feedinghungryminds.co.uk

Home Learning Resources

With many schools currently closed, we wanted to support families with home learning and skills development by sharing some useful tools and ideas! Take a look at some of the resources we’ve created by clicking here.

Cooking Clubs

We recognise that it’s an important part of a child’s development to learn about how much work and care goes into producing what they see on their plate. With this in mind we collaborate with local farmers to arrange exciting and informative farm experiences for children. Pupils can see how crops and livestock are raised and try out agricultural practices for themselves!

Farm Experiences

Our Food Education Event Days (FEED) are a great opportunity for schools to come together and experience food education activities. FEEDs are held in school halls or community buildings and are set up like a mini school fête.  We put on a number of fun activities focused on provenance, healthy eating and wellbeing.

FEED

Our assemblies are designed to teach pupils about what is meant by healthy eating and why it is important. It’s essential for children to be equipped with the information they need to make healthy choices, so our nutritionists have developed presentations for KS1 and KS2 for our experienced staff to deliver to individual year groups all the whole school.

Dining Room Experiences

We believe it’s important to engage parents with our healthy eating ethos. Along with more casual tasting sessions, we are pleased to offer sit-down meals for pupils and their families. We prepare and serve a meal from the normal school menu for pupils to share with their family in their school dining environment.
