ISS High Five at Facility Management and Food Services Awards

ISS gains five awards in five days at the Foodservice Cateys, Educatering and BIFM Awards
ISS Facility Services has been recognised as a leader in a range of facilities management fields to include employability, catering and facilities management excellence. Five awards and ‘highly commended’ accolades were received by ISS within five days by three major award bodies on 10th and 13th October, 2014.
The first awards were in not just one, but two areas at the prestigious ‘Foodservice Catey’ ceremony held on Friday 10th October 2014 in London. ISS Education and Healthcare business units both received ‘Caterer of the Year’ Catey awards in their respective categories. Three further ‘gongs’ followed on Monday 13th October at the ‘Educatering Excellence Awards’ and the British Institute of Facilities Management’s annual ‘BIFM Awards’ – all held in London.
The Education team earned its second win at the Educatering Awards when it was presented with the notable ‘Contract Caterer of the Year’ Award. Two further plaudits followed the same evening at the BIFM Award ceremony where ISS won the ‘Profound Impact ‘category for youth employability, plus a ‘Highly Commended’ nomination for ‘FM Excellence in a Major Project’.
Richard Sykes, CEO ISS UK and Ireland commented, “The clutch of awards highlight the strength of our FM expertise and commitment to youth employability. This level of recognition underscores what we can achieve with the ISS belief in what we call the Power of the Human Touch in providing service excellence. I’m incredibly proud of all of our people in gaining such plaudits from our peers.”
The Foodservice Cateys are run by The Caterer – the leading brand for the UK hospitality industry – celebrating foodservice employees across the UK. The FS Catey ‘Caterer Of The Year’ awards to ISS recognise and reward the exceptional individuals and teams who ensure their business always delivers excellent service.
The Educatering Contract Caterer Award again highlights the array of work by the ISS Education team. The win covered successes ranging from gaining ‘Food For Life’ awards for lunches for hundreds of schools, to delivering bespoke training programmes to foster the skills of school cooks.
The BIFM Awards – developed by the eponymous professional body for facilities management – highlights achievements across the FM industry. ‘Profound Impact’ awards the provision of employability opportunities for upcoming talent. The ‘Highly Commended’ accolade for ‘FM Excellence in a Major Project’ was given to ISS in recognition of a milestone venture with a major financial services organisation.
Mark Davies, ISS Director of Education said, “We are absolutely delighted with our two education awards. To win such prestigious accolades is a huge triumph for our team, all of whom I am extremely proud of. This year has presented several new challenges for the school meals industry, but thanks to the hard work and commitment shown by our cooks, we have embraced them and our business has improved greatly as a result. These awards pay tribute to all of the ISS Education teams’ efforts and are very well deserved. We will continue to build upon our successes and are already looking forward to the year ahead!”
The Catey Healthcare Caterer award was collected by ISS Service Development Director, Andy Jones, who commented, “This is an award that must be shared with everyone within our team who work tirelessly to ensure that we provide the best possible service to each and every patient. I was proud and humbled to accept the award on everyone’s behalf”.
ISS Chief Operating Officer, Philip Leigh commented, “I am pleased to see both our Education and Healthcare division achieve recognition. ISS are demonstrating the level of standard that can be reached and I am confident that our on-going dedication to service excellence will continue to drive rewards and benefits”.
