The School Food Plan

“This plan is about good food and happiness. It is about the pleasures of growing, cooking and eating proper food. It is also about improving the academic performance of our children and the health of our nation.” – The School Food Plan

In July 2013 the government released The School Food Plan. Written by Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent, co-founders of the LEON restaurant chain, the document investigates what role cooking and food should play more broadly in schools, to enrich children’s home lives and leave a legacy for later life. It calls for teachers, parents, cooks and caterers to improve the quality of school food and encourage pupils to try it!

There’s a great summary of the plan here if you’re short on time!
